Inter Milan will host Genoa in week 1 of Serie A 2021/22, Saturday (21/8/2021). This will be the start of Inter's struggle to defend their title.
Last season, Antonio Conte's Inter, with striker Romelu Lukaku as one of the main pillars, successfully won the Scudetto and broke Juventus' dominance of nine seasons in Serie A. However, Conte then decided to leave. Not only that, Lukaku also chose to join Chelsea, his old club.
Simone Inzaghi, who until last season was still coaching Lazio, has been appointed as Conte's replacement. In addition, Inter have also brought in several new players, including midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu from AC Milan, striker Edin Dzeko from AS Roma, and defender Denzel Dumfries from PSV.
Inter's pre-season itself was so convincing. Of the seven test matches, they won six times and were unbeaten. The new face of Inter seems to be ready for the new season.
