Negotiations between the Barcelona management and the legend reportedly started shortly after sacking Ronald Koeman. As is known, Barcelona have sacked Koeman. The dismissal was made from a series of poor results achieved by Barcelona in recent weeks.

Barcelona could not immediately recruit Xavi. Because, the legend is still the coach of Al-Sadd in the Qatar League. He immediately coached Al-Sadd after retiring from the world of football on July 1, 2019. Xavi has already presented seven domestic trophies for Al-Sadd. For additional information, Al-Sadd is Xavi's club after leaving Barcelona on 1 July 2015 until his retirement.
