Referring to the information on the official BWF website, Indonesia Open 2021 is a 1000 super level tournament or one rank above Indonesia Masters.
The full schedule of Indonesia Open 2021 will take place on November 23-28 at The Westin Resort, the same location as the holding of the Indonesian Masters.
The first round of five sectors contested will be held for two days. 32 participants in men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles will play on Tuesday (11/23) and Wednesday (24/11).
On the third day, Thursday (25/11), a second round match will be held or the last 16.
A day later on Friday (26/11), athletes who qualified for the quarter-finals will compete. After that the semifinal was held on Saturday (11/27).
The final of five sectors will be held on Sunday (28/11).
Just like Indonesia Masters, no viewers allowed to attend. The bubble system that was enforced since Indonesia Masters will still continue.
The mainstay of Indonesia will appear, such as Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon / Kevin Sanjaya, and Greysia Polii / Apriyani Rahayu.
Indonesia Open was last held in 2019. Last year's event was canceled due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Two years ago, Marcus / Kevin became the only winner from Indonesia. While the men's singles title was won by Chou Tien Chen and women's singles belonging to Yamaguchi's should. While Yuki Fukushima / Sayaka Hirota became the women's doubles champion, and Zheng Si Wei / Huang Yaqiong was a mixed double champion.
