All 2021/2022 Champions League contestants are complete. The draw for the Champions League group stage will also be held tonight.
The draw for the group stage will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, Thursday (26/8/2021) at 17:00 BST, or 23:00 WIB, which can be watched live via the channel on UEFA.TV. There are four pots filled by eight teams each.
Pot one consists of Champions League winners last season, namely Chelsea. Villarreal are also in pot one for winning the Europa League. Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Lille, and Sporting CP are also in pot one because they are league champions in their respective countries.
Pot two is filled by Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund. All entered in the second pot based on UEFA coefficient points the same as the next pot.
The third pot is Porto, Ajax Amsterdam, RB Leipzig, Atalanta and Zenit Saint Petersburg. Shakhtar Donetsk, Red Bull Salzburg and Benfica can enter the third pot after qualifying for the qualifying round.
AC Milan Wolfsburg, and Club Brugge were first in pot 4. Besiktas and Dynamo Kyiv then ensured themselves in the last pot after the qualifying round was completed, by adding the presence of Young Boys, Malmo, and Sheriff Tiraspol.
In this group phase drawing, each country cannot be in the same group. For example, Chelsea in pot 1 could not meet Manchester United or Liverpool in the second pot because they were both from England.
Chelsea means that they have the potential to be in a difficult group. This is also a challenge for Thomas Tuchel's team, which is the defending champion.
